Arctic Duke took an overused character and added enough cool new stuff to really make him desirable, even to people who already had him. Snake Eyes, on the other hand, throws a bunch of accessories at us, but they don't all stick, and don't necessarily make the figure a whole lot better. There are some interesting new additions here, but also some strange ones, as well.

The shield is evidently the main draw of the accessory compliment for this figure, and it looks pretty...well...odd, actually. It's a long, somewhat round, but angled protective device, though it's not something I see a jungle ops commando using on a regular basis, really. It conceals his two smaller swords nicely and has some interesting features, but I'm not sure exactly how potent this new item is, sales-wise. It also contains two miniature grenades that hook into the bottom, which can come out of the shield, and then actually combine together. An interesting little addition, but again, not sure what the draw really is.

While the design is interesting, and I kind of dig the over-the-top design. I can see it as some sort of super-weapon, but as a Jungle Commando's basic line of defense, I'm not use it works. It can provide defense, it can provide offense when the gun barrels extend and the spring-loaded weapon pops open. Of course, the blades are stored inside as well, and there are the twin grenades that combine into one (above). A certain part of me likes this as some sort of experimental all purpose defensive/offensive weapon, but it still looks kind of odd with Snake Eyes toting it around. Maybe as a COBRA item, or something with Hi-Tech, I don't know.

Jungle Ops Snake Eyes also comes with his standard Uzi submachine gun in copper and black, still with the trusty removable clip. It's much the same weapon as the one the first version came with, only in slightly different colors. I actually like these new colors more than the others.

His altered Tonfa sword (now called a Karasu sword) is present as well, and looks pretty nasty, actually. With a new serrated edge, this blade is obviously meant to clear trees and make paths through the jungle brush. Once you start to wonder just what this blade would do to a COBRA operative, though, it suddenly becomes pretty vicious. An interesting addition to this blade is a little sleeve mount on the handle which allows the sword to connect to the Uzi, and become a way-oversized makeshift bayonet.

Snake Eyes is still toting around his Whipstar, too, looking dangerous as ever, but feeling a lot flimsier. This whipstar has none of the heft or size of the original, and is just a thin sheet of plastic in a Whipstar shape. Nothing great at all.

Rounding off his accessories are his two new goggle attachments, an "undersea mask" and communications unit. Both of these masks are uniquely designed and really look very neat. They could very well be a high selling point for this figure. His undersea mask especially looks really cool with twin air tanks built in. I can see this really being useful in the battlefield as well. Even though these two masks don't really fit perfectly over Snake Eyes' visor, they are still very cool new masks, and could potentially be useful to many different operatives.

Along with all of his gear, he's also got some cloth pants, which don't seem to be assembled quite as well as some of the past cloth pants. Using elastic instead of buttons and straps, the pants look kind of like sweat pants. He's also got little elastic straps on both legs which secure weapons, though not very well. The two mini swords fit in the loops okay, but they already have a storage spot in his shield. I would have thought that maybe these loops would hold the larger sword, but that's not the case. While I'm sure you can stretch the loops to fit the sword, I'm not certian they wouldn't tear while doing it.

So ultimately, we have another Snake Eyes which doesn't serve a whole lot of purpose. Sure, he's a Jungle Commando, and he's got some new gear, but the new gear isn't nearly as fun as, say, Arctic Duke's, and this green color looks odd on Snake Eyes. On one side it might be cool for customizers to get their hands on another clean Sigma Suit to use, and the shield looks like it could be fun in a weird, over-the-top kind of way, but ultimately, there isn't enough cool new stuff here to necessarily warrant a purchase.
